One thing this cake reminds me of when I look at it is the story of Moby Dick. I love books and one book that I haven't even thought about reading is Moby Dick. Not sure why I've never read it because I love reading classic books. I guess it's something that I'll just have to put onto my to-do list.

Oatmeal Blueberry Thumbprint Cookies

Just another fabulous December day with another ah-mazing cookie recipe! Is it bad to say that I'm more in a fruity mood this holiday season then I am chocolate? Maybe the North Carolina weather is getting to me since I'm not back in North Dakota with all of that snow? That could be it! And not gonna lie, I enjoy not being surrounded by snow, although in the next week I will be soon enough when I head back north for Christmas break. Maybe then I'll finally be in the mood for some gingerbread?

Old Fashioned Saturday

Here in North Dakota we have a thing during the summer where pretty much every single small country town has a weekend that's given a name and is filled with a ton of fun events. This weekend it's my hometown's special weekend and we call it Old Fashioned Saturday.

Lemons + Blueberries

A lot of things goes with lemons. And one of my favorite things to go with them is... blueberries. This combination is really delicious and during the summer months it's one of my go-to flavors. My favorite thing to make with this combo is cupcakes. It just happens to be one of my sisters as well because she's the one who wouldn't stop bugging me about making them for the 4th of July. So of course I couldn't say no and ended up making them.
