I've always wanted to go to Africa. To be able to go on a safari and to see all of the beautiful animals that reside there would be an honest dream come true for me. I've always seemed to have a soft spot for animals and the wild ones are a big part of that, such as the lion. Lions just have a certain beauty to them and I'm not even sure how to even explain it, so I'll let the details on this gorgeous cake I made do the talking.

Pretty in Pink

Who doesn't love the color pink? Well for me it is necessarily the color but what you can do with the color. Does that make any sense? No, not really. Well this post isn't about the movie "Pretty in Pink" featuring the famous Molly Ringwald (love her). This post is about Cinderella. Ya I know, your thinking what in the world is this B-word doing putting that as the title for this post?!? It will make sense, I promise.

Whales
One thing this cake reminds me of when I look at it is the story of Moby Dick. I love books and one book that I haven't even thought about reading is Moby Dick. Not sure why I've never read it because I love reading classic books. I guess it's something that I'll just have to put onto my to-do list.

Bows
Who doesn't love a pretty, big puffy bow? And who doesn't love it even more if it's adorned on top of a cake?? It just gives it an adorable little look, perfect for a little girl's birthday cake or just for fun. Keep reading to learn how to make one of these fabulous edible bows.

Elegance
I just love mini cakes! They are so cute and small and you don't exactly feel guilty if you eat half of it! That's the beauty of mini desserts. Not being guilty. Plus it gives you the chance to do a few different decoration ideas that you've just been dying to do.

I Love You More Than All The Stars
What's the difference between living in the city and living on a farm in the middle of nowhere? You can see the stars. I love looking at the stars, there's just something about them that makes you feel peaceful. It would also be wonderful to actually be loved that much by someone.

Roses
I don't know about you guys but I've seen quite a few pictures of desserts like these on Pinterest lately. It got me wondering on how the people that made them, well, made them. So I examined a picture or two of the little rose cupcake pretties and did a little research as well and came up with a conclusion. It's a fairly easy conclusion, but can be time consuming, so you better be very ambitious to do these!

Flamingos

I've never been to the beach. I've never been to the ocean. I've been to Florida and I go to school in North Carolina but yet have I ever gone to the beach or set a foot in the ocean. Its kind of sad if you think about it. At least I'll finally be able to go to the beach in March for spring break!

Marshmallow Fondant
Marshmallows. It's a love hate relationship. Is it bad to say that I'm not a fan of marshmallows? The hate part comes from the texture when you eat one of them. Also the fact that I don't even like to eat s'mores. It's sad. Love though is all because of this fondant here! It's not just delicious to eat, but it's also cheaper versus buying already made fondant from the store!

Cowboys & The Wild West
Something that I enjoy doing is watching a western on TV and it's one of those things that I do with my dad when I'm home on breaks from college. My absolute favorite western to watch is The Virginian. Trampas is my favorite character on this show, the main reason being that I think he's pretty freaking cute. Anyways, watching these westerns gave me the inspiration to make this cowboy cake.

Anne & Gilbert
One of my all time favorite books is Anne of Green Gables. I've read it at least 4 times and have the rest of the entire series. It's such a cute and lovable book that I find can relate to most little girls who have very creative imaginations, a kindred spirit best friend, and a boy that calls you "carrots" or just teases you. This book series is adventurous and romantic in so many different ways and I can never seem to get enough of it.

Goin' Bananas

Yum, I love bananas! It just happens to be one of my favorite fruits to eat, because it's good with peanut butter and is even better with some vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. Except this time around it's going to be in a cake! I love it already.

Disney Series: Frozen
This here is cake 3/3 of the family free weekend and the Disney series project (but don't worry, it's not the last last of the Disney series project!). Frozen is one of the newest movies that has become a really big hit, so of course it was necessary to make a Frozen cake (if I hadn't my sister would not have been very happy with me).

Disney Series: Snow White
This here Snow White cake is number 2 out of 3 to the family free weekend Disney series project! Woohoo! Is it bad that I'm really super excited about doing all of these different kinds of Disney cakes? I just have all of these ideas popping out of nowhere and they just keep coming! Anyways, I'm super excited about this cake because it not only features Snow White but also includes Prince Florian and of course the seven dwarfs!

Disney Series: Aladdin
You ever get one of those weekends when you get the whole house to yourself? Well I do sometimes and I must say that I enjoy it way too much. Lets just say that my family can be pigs sometimes so I take this as an opportunity to clean house, and then mess it up again when I get bored and head for the kitchen to bake. Well on this family free weekend I had a few weeks ago I wanted to do a few things, so this is the start of a little (ok, maybe not so little) project of a series that will involve a whole lot of everything Disney. And when I say everything, I mean literally almost every single Disney movie. (Did I mention that I'm a Disney freak?)

Welcome to the Jungle
Don't you just love that song by Guns N' Roses? Well I do. Anyways this isn't about a song, it's about a little baby that is on the way! Now I don't personally know the mother to be of this baby, but I do know her relative who asked me to make this cake for the baby shower. She requested it to be an animal cake, and that's when my mind went on its own little hunt on how to execute this cake just right.

Fishy Fishy!
Well it's summer time and there's nothing like going to the lake on a weekend, hopping on the boat, and... going fishing? I've never been a fan of fishing, but it just happens to be a really popular thing here in North Dakota in the summer and in the winter. I mean what else are you supposed to do? Growing up in a small country town, living on a farm, about less than an hour away from the city really leaves you with not much to do. To pass the time my friends and I would drive around to entertain ourselves while others would revert to fishing (or some other type of hunting activity).

Flower Garden

Flowers are always something that cheers me up. I love gardening and to just looking at the prettiness that just flows from them, how soft the petals are, and mostly by the scent that they give. Every flower is unique in its own way, just as we are. The pretty colors, how tall they grow, and overall the variety of flowers that are out there.

Harry Potter

Growing up as a kid Harry Potter was one of my all time favorite things. I read all the books at least twice, some more than that, and I own all of the movies, the first one so old that it's on VHS. My cousins, sister, and I grew up loving this series and when I found these cute images created by Casey Robin, I knew that they would make the most adorable cookies!

My Sister's Graduation
My sister just graduated from high school and for her party that she was going to have with her best friend, they requested that I make them the cake for it. It was definitely a challenge as their party fell on a weekend where I only would just arrive back home from college a few days before. Despite only have 2 days to make this cake with late nights and early mornings, it was worth it.
