Disney Series: Frozen

This here is cake 3/3 of the family free weekend and the Disney series project (but don't worry, it's not the last last of the Disney series project!). Frozen is one of the newest movies that has become a really big hit, so of course it was necessary to make a Frozen cake (if I hadn't my sister would not have been very happy with me).

Once again Steve Thompson produced more cute pictures that I had to use, Elsa and Anna. I also had to have Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven on this cake as well or else it wouldn't have seemed complete without them.

For this cake I wanted to make it seem wintery and when I saw this cute idea of a glaze to make it look like an icicle drip along the edges I knew that I had to use it on this cake.

  • To make this glaze I just took 1/2 a cup of powdered sugar and added in some food coloring, white-white, and some water.

To complete the wintery scene I added in some white frosting "snowflakes" along the top and sides. I also added in some chunky white sprinkles but it dissolved into the glaze and didn't show. It was really disappointing :(

Out of all three of the family free weekend cakes this Frozen one is my favorite. I think it's mainly because of the setup and the completeness of the cake. I didn't want to do too much with the other two cakes because of the mixing of colors of the frosting (I couldn't throw all that frosting away and have the colors be mixed up. I also wrapped it up and will use it for another project in the very near future.)
