Growing up I never took dance classes. It was probably because I was both a chubby and shy kid. My sister did take dance classes for at least a year or 2. I would go to her practice with my mom and watch them prance around learning a dance routine for a show that they were going to put on. Once they did perform you could only see short sparkly outfits and little kids that would occasionally mess up a move every now and then. I'm not entirely sure if I would actually take dance lessons though if I could have a re-do. Oh well. Now on to the dance of the ballerinas.

Royal Icing Lion Decals
It's been a busy past few months and I've been MIA with school, graduating, and being in Italy for a month, but I'm finally back in action with my mind on everything sugar and ready to get back into the kitchen! This post I'm doing a tutorial on how to make these lions out of royal icing that can be used to put on cookies, cupcakes or whatever your heart desires. Hopefully I don't royally screw it up and you'll understand how to do it. I tend to either over explain or not give too details, and I'm hoping I can do this without boring you.

Royal Icing
One major recipe you definitely need in your recipe box is a thing called royal icing. Some of you may have heard of it and some may not have. It's a really simple recipe to follow although it can be tedious at times depending on what you use it for.

Little Red Riding Hood
I've been wanting to do a cake with Little Red Riding Hood for a long time now but I just couldn't figure out how to execute it. No matter how hard I looked I couldn't find the right images of Red Riding Hood and the wolf to use, until now.

Woodlands
WARNING: The pictures may look cute, but the topic is not so much. If you are against hunting, then please do not continue.
Aren't these cutesy cookies just adorable!? I can't help but fawn over little woodsy animals like cute baby deer and foxes. Living in North Dakota you see quite a lot of deer around, and now most recently in the past few years the fox has been starting to come back around and fortunately, there are no bears in sight as far as I can see.

Disney Series: Beauty & The Beast
Belle just happens to be my absolute favorite Disney Princess. Not only that, but it's also one of my top 3 favorite Disney movies, alongside Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland. I think this movie is a part of so many favorites of mine because of all the amazing scenes and characteristics the characters have. The one dream that I really want to come true is to have a library (but on a smaller scale of course) just like the one in the movie. Plus Belle's iconic yellow ballgown. And the Beast. Well basically everything.

Disney Series: Peter Pan
It should be a well known fact about my love of everything Peter Pan by now. I really can't help it either. It's like an addiction and these cookies are proof of that. Now you must have heard about the new Pan movie that came out YESTERDAY! Yeah, that's right, these cookies are for that movie. I can also say that I will be attending this movie. And there's also the fact that it's my 21st birthday today! What's a better way to celebrate than going to this movie?! (Well besides the obvious of going to a bar and taking a few shots.)

Disney Series: Little Mermaid
Who doesn't love The Little Mermaid? I know I sure do! It's such a classic story plus it also includes my love for mermaids and Disney, of course. And this cake also wouldn't be a cake without having the main characters on it.

Disney Series: Sleeping Beauty
Sleeping Beauty. I love this story, but did you know that Aurora is barely even in this movie? It's mainly because she's asleep through like half of it. So to me the main character who is in the whole movie is Prince Phillip. Either way I still love this movie and this cake just happens to show one of my favorite scenes!

Disney Series: Alice in Wonderland
I love Alice in Wonderland and I just can't get over on how cute the cookies of the characters turned out! And once again I'm home alone, this time for a full week(!!!!), and I'm getting all kinds of baking ideas out of my head and put onto cake! Along the way during this family free week, and continuing the Disney Series, I got another 3 character cakes done and you'll eventually get to see them! Can't wait!

Pooh & Friends
I've always loved Winnie the Pooh. I have the classic book that used to belong to my aunt. It's so cute and old that the edges of the book is blue. Anyways there's just so much cuteness in this book and the illustrations are even better.

Cinderella
I've been wanting to do a cake featuring Cinderella for over a year now and a few months ago I finally decided it was time to do it, mainly because the live action Cinderella movie by Disney was coming out, it was perfect timing really.

Fairy Tales
I love fairy tales, they are so cute and fun to read. One of the books in my vast collection is Grimm's Fairy Tales and so far I'm only about halfway through it, but the stories are so different from the cleaned up versions, which I think i prefer even though I love gory movies and books. I think I prefer the cleaner versions because they are more child friendly and innocent.

Whales & Sailboats
Sometimes I can't help but think of what it would be like to live in the ocean. I'm a mermaid believer and you can certainly call me crazy for all I care. Whales just happens to be another one of those majestic creatures in this world that make people wonder on what else could be living in the ocean. These cookies are also about as far as I'll probably ever get to go whale watching.
